How the method performs

Recovery describes the share of cells already present in a collection that remain after processing. It does not mean that new cells are created or added.

What these numbers mean: recovery describes how much of what was already in the collection survives processing — higher is better. Post-process hematocrit describes how much red blood cell material remains in the stored unit — lower is better. Individual results vary by collection.
