Anja Health partners with Vitalant Cord Blood Services in Allendale, New Jersey, to process and store its clients' newborn stem cells. Vitalant is one of the few organizations in the United States that supports both public cord blood donation and private family banking, and its laboratory team performs the processing, testing, cryopreservation, and storage for Anja Health families.

Vitalant Cord Blood Services is AABB Accredited, CAP Accredited, ASHI Accredited, and CLIA Certified, and it is FDA Registered as a tissue bank. It also holds AABB accreditation for cellular therapy laboratories, is licensed in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and California, and is a member of NMDP and NCI. The designation differs by organization: the FDA registers establishments rather than approving them, CLIA certifies laboratories, CAP, AABB, and ASHI accredit them, and states issue licenses.

Anja Health stores cord blood at the Vitalant Cord Blood Services laboratory in Allendale, New Jersey. Samples are held in cryogenic storage at approximately -190°C. Families choose either 20-year cryostorage or lifetime cryostorage; stem cells have no known expiration date.

Vitalant's laboratory team uses manual, sample-specific processing rather than applying one automated method to every collection, adjusting to the volume, timing, and condition of each sample. Through Anja Health's ConciergeMax™ pathway, the manual method averages more than 85% total nucleated cell recovery and at least 98% mononuclear cell recovery, compared with the 60-80% typical of automated processing. Individual results vary by collection.

Vitalant traces its origins to 1943, when it began as the Salt River Valley Blood Bank in Phoenix, and it is now the largest independent nonprofit blood and biotherapies provider in the United States, serving approximately 900 hospitals. Cord blood banking at the New Jersey laboratory began in 1996, and that laboratory has since processed more than 40,000 cord blood units. In 2018 the New Jersey and Pennsylvania cord blood programs merged into Vitalant Cord Blood Services.
